10 SONGS… (VOL. 15) BY MARTA ORLIKOWSKA
“10 songs or 10 poems”
Marta is a multi-talented artisan who I first encountered through her charming knitwear studio, 'Celestina Mode,' nestled in the heart of Warsaw. Named after her partner's grandmother’s own pasmanteria, a shop that flourished on via dei Gracchi in Rome during the 1960s until the early 2000s, Marta decided to carry on the legacy with passion and precision.
Within her studio, Marta is a one-woman powerhouse, meticulously crafting each knitwear piece by hand. Her dedication to garments extends beyond the artistry of knitting; she is an anti-fast fashionista, adeptly looking for vintage pieces based on quality, material, and style.
Both Marta and me share a deep appreciation for well-crafted garments made from premium natural materials—pieces that not only enhance everyday attire but also stand the test of time, becoming cherished ‘heirlooms’ in our wardrobes.
In addition to her knitting prowess, Marta's culinary talents shine through her daily stories on Instagram. With a keen eye for simplicity and a touch of perfection, she transforms simple ingredients into tasty delights, further showcasing her creative spirit.
Marta is a connoisseur of life’s simple joys, exhibiting a sharp eye for detail and beauty as she effortlessly presents them with graceful finesse.
